Bank
Sub-Station block capacitor banks can be provided in small or
large kVAR units, wherever the need exists. A complete bank normally consist
of a number of block assemblies to provide the required kVAR, base, insulators to provide the desired BIL
rating, interconnection material, and any other accessories or special features
required. Assembled blocks consist of distribution class capacitors
connected in parallel, series-parallel, or three phase arrangements
mounted in an aluminum frame. The capacitors units are rated from 50
to 500 kVAR, 2.4 to 69 kV, and 75 to 125 kVBIL. Blocks
may also be supplied with bus-mounted, indicating type
expulsion fuses for individual capacitor protection. Factory assembled blocks provide
kVAR requirements in an economical, compact, adaptable, and easy-to-install
package. Numerous configurations of sizes and bus arrangements are
available.
